I quit smoking 7 weeks ago. Or as I prefer to say, I had my last cigarette 7 weeks ago. There's less pressure then. I'm pretty sure I have it under control. Sometimes I still want the solitude that having a cigarette provided but then I think about everything else that goes along with that solitude. I won't get into all of that - you smoker's and reformed smoker's know what I mean.
No now it's time for the next phase. That's right - diet and exercise. Getting back in shape is going to suck compared to quitting smoking. Hence, this blog. It's either write it all down in this blog or beat the crap out of some innocent bystander. OK - they may not be completely innocent but I don't think the court recognizes the "they drive like a freaking moron and I just lost it" defense.
So here's the plan. School starts on Wednesday and my family will get back into a routine (Thank God!!!). I will also start a new routine - writing down everything I eat and any exercise I get in. I won't be doing anything out of the ordinary. We'll just call the first week a baseline - just tracking my normal behavior.
One more thing: For those of you who know me IRL and are wondering about the name Samantha - that was my bar name. I used my bar name when I was young and single and needed to make sure a guy wasn't looney tunes before I let him know my real name. I was also in pretty good shape back then. They say to fake it until you make it and using Samantha for this blog is a somewhat tangible way of doing that.
